About us
The people behind Paw Suite Haarlem
We are Melisa & Emre β a dog-obsessed couple who share their home and heart with a handful of guests at a time. No staff, no business β just the two of us.

Just the two of us, in our own home
Paw Suite Haarlem isn’t just a business β it’s our way of sharing a calm, loving space with dogs who deserve to feel truly at home even when you’re away. We’re fully present for companionship, cuddles and attention. Your dog becomes part of our daily rhythm: relaxed mornings, lovely walks, cosy evenings and plenty of time for play and rest. No busy spaces, no kennels β just a warm home.
Meet Melisa
The heart behind Paw Suite
Dog lover and the heart behind Paw Suite Haarlem. For as long as I can remember, dogs have been part of my life. Growing up in Germany, I was always surrounded by loyal, tail-wagging companions who followed me through all kinds of weather.
My own little chihuahua brought endless joy (and a healthy dose of stubbornness) into my home, and taught me that every dog, big or small, has its own personality and a deep need to belong somewhere.
Moving abroad made me realise just how much that bond with animals means to me. That’s why I opened our home β to give your dog the same sense of safety, security and happiness that I grew up with.
Meet Emre
A lifelong protector of dogs
Co-founder of Paw Suite Haarlem, and a dog protector at heart. I grew up in Istanbul, where street dogs roam freely through the streets, often without anyone to care for them. For us, they were simply part of the neighbourhood.
From a young age I felt a strong sense of responsibility to protect them. I simply couldn’t walk past a hungry or frightened dog without doing something β I fed them, kept an eye on their health and made sure they were safe. Over time I had a small ‘pack’ that knew I was there for them, and trusted me.
Dogs deserve dignity, trust and love β wherever they come from.

Every dog is different, every stay personal
We have cared for shy rescue dogs, bouncy puppies and dignified seniors of every size and breed β from tiny toy poodles to gentle giants like Cane Corsos and German Shepherds. We know how to give anxious dogs calm and structure, and offer first-time boarders (or rescue dogs) a little extra comfort when they feel unsure.
We’re happy to follow your dog’s own routine β special diets, medication, enrichment and training agreements are all part of our daily care. No request is too small if it keeps your dog happy and safe.
And above all, we do this because we genuinely love it. There’s nothing better than watching a nervous dog unwind, a senior enjoying a sunny nap, or a puppy learning a new trick.
Love, trust and care
Our approach is small-scale, warm and professional β structure with heart.
A home, not a kennel
Your dog stays right in our house β among people, not behind fences. Room to relax, play and feel safe, with soft spots to sleep and cuddles in abundance.
Individual attention
Every dog has its own personality, needs and rhythm. We take the time to truly get to know your dog and adapt our care entirely to what they need.
Always in touch
We know how reassuring it is to hear that your dog is doing well. That’s why we keep families updated with messages, photos and little updates β so you stay connected, even when you’re away.
